Yeankyoung Hahm (Fall 2020 - )  

Yeankyoung Hahm is a Ph.D. student. She has research interests in the built environment & human behavior and evidence-based urban design, with a specific focus on pedestrians' environment. Her current research investigates the effect of landscape design on the satisfaction with the thermal environment by measuring emotional changes using a mobile Electroencephalography (EEG) device, involved in the project – “Development of urban thermal environment management systems in Urban Ecological Health Promotion Technology Development Project” funded by KEITI and Korea MOE. Prior to joining the lab, she worked for the Seoul Institute, researching on Development of Living SOC(Social Overhead Capital) in 10 Minutes Community. Yeankyoung received her M.L.A. degree in Landscape Architecture at Seoul National University. She holds her B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture with the honor of Cum Laude from Seoul National University.

Seungjoo Baek  (Spring 2022 - )  

Seungjoo Baek is a Ph.D. student. She has broad research interests encompassing climate change, urban shrinkage and human behaviors, and learning quantitative analytical methods and tools. Recently, she began analyzing human behaviors in urban parks using drone imagery. She holds a master degree in landscape architecture and smart city global convergence from Seoul National University, with a thesis titled “An assessment on the factors attributing farmland abandonment, a case of Jeollanam-do, South Korea“. She received her B.S. in Landscape Architecture from Seoul Women’s University.

Donggyu Jeong (Spring 2020 - )  

Donggyu Jeong is a Ph.D. student. He has research interests in environmental psychology in the scope of landscape architecture, with specific focuses on the impact of landscape spaces on retail business and human behavior. Donggyu is currently working for Daegu Urban Corporation that is one of the public corporations, specializing in urban design, planning, and engineering of the built environment of Daegu metropolitan area. He holds a master of landscape architecture from Seoul National University with a thesis titled "Survival analysis of food business establishments in a major retail district and its extended area: a case study on Itaewon, Seoul, Korea". He received his B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Kyungpook National University.

Fengdi Ma (Fall 2020 - )  

Fengdi Ma is a Ph.D. student. She has research interests in the social impacts of landscape spaces, with a specific focus on individual exposure to environmental influences. Fengdi has researched the space equity of urban green space and published an article titled “Spatial equity analysis of urban green space based on Spatial Design Network Analysis.” Prior to joining the lab, she participated in several research projects: Promotion Status of the Green Roof; Ecological Adaptability of Coastal Wetland; Response Mechanism of Mitochondria in Turfgrass to Salt Stress. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Material Forming and Control Engineering & Environment Design and Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Shandong Jianzhu University.

Hemin Lee (Spring 2020 - )  

Hemin Lee is a PhD student. She has been working for Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements(KRIHS) since 2018. She is conducting urban planning research focusing on national balanced development in response to global issues such as climate change and domestic issues such as population decline and aging. She worked on several projects; Regional Inequality Status and Improvement Measures(2020~2021), Performance Evaluation and Policy Support of Innovation Cities(2019~2020), and ‘Urban Regeneration New Deal’ facilitation(2018~2019), and Development of Green Infrastructure Design for Enhancing Resilience in Urban Social-Ecological System(2017~2018). She holds a master of landscape architecture from Korea University with a thesis titled "Green infrastructure planning for enhancing urban resilience to floods" and B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Seoul Women’s University.

Yunwon Choi (Spring 2015 - Fall 2019)

Yunwon Choi is a PhD student. She has researched on the effects of Silver Zone in reducing elderly pedestrian accidents Seoul, South Korea. Prior to joining the lab, she worked for SWA Group in Sausalito as a landscape designer. She worked on several projects; Northbund Magnolia Plaza in Shanghai, Raycom Residential in Hefei, Envision Smart Energy Campus in Nanjing, Xing Yuan Lake Town in Hanzhong, Reconstruction of Post Oak boulevard with exclusive bus lanes in Houston, Texas, Golden Beach Resort in Quingdao, and Guangzhou Central Plaza in Guangzhou. As a student researcher at Seoul National University, Yunwon gave an oral presentation at CELA 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She received her M.L.A. from UC Berkeley and B.F.A. in Scenic Design from Penn State University.  Her research interests include understanding the effects of urban planning on people’s health and safety.

Haeryung Kim (Spring 2016 - )  

Haeryung Kim is a PhD student. She has researched on the integrated impact of climate change supported by the Ministry of Environment in Korea, with a particular foucs on evaluating vulnerability to natural hazard. Prior to joining the lab, she worked for Environmental Policy Research Group of Korea Environment Institute, researching on the Management and Utilization of the Saetgang Stream in the Hangang River, also worked for the Department of Civil Economy Research at the Seoul Institute, researching on Evaluation Criteria for Namsan Mountain Gondola Feasibility Analysis. She holds a master of landscape architecture from Seoul National University with a thesis titled "Preference for an Indoor Green-wall" and published an article titled "Willingness-to-pay More for Coffee under Indoor Greenwall". She received her B.S. in Architecture from Kyung Hee University.
